Welcome to City Hall
The City of Apache Junction was organized, formed and incorporated under the laws of the State of Arizona on November 24, 1978. It has a "Council-Manager" general law form of government where the City Manager is appointed by the City Council. The Council consists of seven members elected at-large, on a non-partisan basis. Residents elect the Mayor and six Councilmembers, making each accountable to the entire citizenry.

City Hall Complex
The Apache Junction City Hall / Municipal Court buildings, pictured above, opened in Spring 2005 and is the first LEED certified City Hall in Arizona. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for green buildings. Apache Junction to Enhance Customer Service Hours
Effective July 18, 2011, the City of Apache Junction initiated a six month pilot program implementing new municipal hours and days of operation. City Hall administrative offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm and will be closed Friday. This pilot project is similar to hours of operation adopted by many cities throughout the Valley.
This change was designed to enhance customer service by enabling citizens the ability to conduct business at City Hall during hours that are more convenient to them.
The hours of operation for City offices and the Water District have been increased by two hours on Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm, closed on Friday.
The Municipal Court will have hours of operation Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, closed on Friday.
Building inspection will continue to be offered on Fridays by appointment and can be scheduled by calling (480) 474- 5156.
The Police Department, the City's Multi-Generational Recreation Center and Library will continue operating under their current hours of operation.
