Apache Junction Active Adult Programs


Looking for a great place to meet new friends, get fit, or just play cards or games? You’ve found it!

The City offers many programs for the Active Adult. There is entertainment, cards, Bingo, fitness, walking and much more. Some programs require pre-registration, some require payment and some programs are offered are at no charge free. The Activity Calendar is a guide of common programs offered on a monthly basis. Any programs with a $ indicate a fee associated with the program. For a complete list of all Parks and Rec Programs and fees visit the front desk.

The Apache Junction Multi-Generational Center, Senior Program operates weekdays from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Closed on weekends and National holidays. For more information please give us a call at 480-474-5260.

Senior Meals Program 
Daily Lunch served at 11:30am Under 60 years old-$6 Over 60 suggested contribution $5/meal. Meal reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Walk-ins will be accepted only and will be served only if there is space. No one over the age of 60 will be denied meal services due to inability to pay.

Ride Reimbursement Program

Our Ride Reimbursement Program is available to all residents of Apache Junction. Approved destinations are within Apache Junction and a 15 mile radius of Apache Junction for medical trips only. Other destinations for other reasons will not be reimbursed.

Program eligibility requires participants to be Apache Junction residents, ages 60 and older or those with a documented disability. Proof of physical address may be provided using copies of a utility bill. Proof of disability is verified through a social security award letter.

The following information must be completed, signed, dated, and on file at the Parks and Recreation office before any reimbursement can be issued. Mileage reimbursement is not retroactive. Once this information is complete you will be notified of the date you may begin logging miles for reimbursement.

Cabs/Ride Share options will be reimbursed up to $100/individual per month for trips. Listed below are some examples of possible transportation options. You will need to provide a copy of the receipt with the mileage log by the 5th of each month.
